No emissions inspection in NJ

The state of New Jersey as of May 1st no longer requires emissions testing on 1995 and older trucks. I have a 95 F150. Can I get rid of all emission related junk on my 4.9 six without any problems? Can I loose the EFI and switch to a carb? Any help is good.

No, that is illegal.

They may not require you to get a test done, but it will still be against the law to remove the emissions related equipment. The fine can be quite substantial.
Meet up with the wrong cop or highways guy when he's not having a good day and your truck ends up on a tow truck with no plates on it.
Lots of people do it anyway, thinking it will make their truck better or something but that's generally not the case at all.
It also would not pass a proper safety inspection without all the emissions equipment attached.
Personally, I don't like to put myself in a position where anybody in a uniform has the right to treat me in anything other than a respectful manner.

They don't require any inspection at all. When my window sticker expires I will get a card or something like a registration in the mail that states no inspection required. The only thing they test for now is emissions. A guy at work passed with a broken windshield. The cops can give you tickets for windshields and major broken stuff but how do they know what I do to the motor? It's like a classic or a hot rod.

not to mention environmental impact. Emissions equipment is there and required for a reason.

Yea you could. Going efi to carb is backwards though. But my truck has no cats, get disconnected and from the factory no smog pump. Cats get clogged, sorry but I'm not putting new ones on. Egr started acting up on my truck so I disconnected it. And like I said no smog pump from factory. But yes, it's illegal. I'd keep the efi though. If cats are good, I'd leave them until they aren't.
