Longer driveshaft or different bellhousing? NEED HELP!!
Ok to start this off I need to give some history on this truck, its a 1977 Ford F-150 Custom and it had a 302 with a c6 tranny (I think anyways). The 302 engine blew so I pulled it out and tried selling the truck and tranny with not much luck. Not wanting to scrap the truck I went out and bought a 360 engine out of a 1972 Ford F-350 farm truck. The 360 came with an np-435 tranny. Went through and tore down the 360 and rebuilt it from the block up, did a little research and measurements of my own and found that the 360 won't bolt up to the c6 tranny that was original with the truck. So....I need help! How can I put the 360 in the truck and use either the auto c6 or the manual np-435? Can I buy a new bellhousing that will allow the 360 to bolt to the c6 or buy a longer driveshaft to use the np-435 manual? The stock driveshaft it about 9" too short to use the manual. I need as much help as I can get as this is my first serious engine and tranny swap and I am only 18!

The C-6 as far as I know does not have a separate bell housing but it should bolt up to the 360. a new driveshaft should be pretty easy to get just look up a local driveshaft shop and they can make just about anything work. example if the shaft for the C-6 has splines that wont work with the manual use parts from the two and give them the measurements between Ujoints and they can weld in a new tube. 200-300 bucks and you should be running.
