Default 1996 ford f150 4.9 to 5.4 swap

I want to swap out my 1996 ford f150 4.9 for a 2003 5.4. What would I need to do the swap

There are so many things to list it isn't even worth the time considering really. You'd be better off doing a 302 or 351w swap but those won't be easy either.

I wouldn't call that a swap; because swap invokes the idea of something fairly easy or at least straightforward to do.
Other than just the logistics of getting it mounted, you would have to re-engineer the electrical system of the truck to run it; all the way back to the dash wiring. And probably chase gremlins down forever.
It could be done but it is by no means an "engine swap".

Yep, do a 5.8 (351w) swap. It can be accomplished with over the counter parts. Engine mounts, sub harnesses, ecm etc.
