First off, I made an account here just to make this post, so forgive me if I did not post this in the correct location. That being said, I bought a 1996 Ford F-150 XLT roughly 2 years ago, and one of the very first things I noticed when initially looking at the truck was the odd hood ornament. I quite liked the ornament and the truck was in great condition, so I purchased it and haven't thought of it much since then. Recently, curiosity has gotten the better of me, and I've begun to try to figure out exactly what this thing is. Countless internet searches have yielded no result. I have never been able find a picture of another truck with this ornament, nor have I even been able to find a picture of just the hood ornament itself. Maybe I'm bad at finding information on the internet, maybe I'm not looking in the right places. The only lead I have is that the previous owner told me that the ornament meant the truck was an anniversary edition model. I have no idea how true that statement is, but its all I have. All that being said, I have turned to the help of forums to help me figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and below are pictures of my truck to aid in the search.

looks like it's from a Galaxy or LTD, maybe Crown Vic?

It is actually from a 1988-90 Crown Victoria.

Makes me think of a Meteor Montcalm.
Either way, that truck never came with a hood ornament.
I suppose you'll have to leave it on to cover up the hole somebody drilled in the hood.

Definitely from a Crown Vic I owned 2 of them and it was on both. I don't know how far back if at all you would have to go to find a hood ornament on an F series but that truck did not come with it nor have any since.

My 1977 has one from the factory. There were 3 or 4 different ones on the 73-79 trucks....I agree the OP's truck didnt come with the one on it.
