Oil Pressure Switch questions?
my oil pressure gauge always reads right about on the N in the word normal on my dash and some times when i stop it shoots down below the N indicating its low on oil and when i check its usually full. a lot of times when the truck is cold it will read low until the trucks reaches temp. i am going to try replacing the oil pressure switch if i'm correct. i bought it from auto zone, Part Number: PS164TG. TruGrade/Oil Pressure Switch,For your 1992 Ford Truck F150 1/2 ton P/U 4WD 5.0L FI 8cyl.
i've been told i can find it near or around my oil filter on the driver side of the engine. if some one can tell me if this is the right part and i' am to understand there is a wire of some sort connected to the thing. i can't find a video on it. so i' am a little blind sighted. any and all help is greatly appreciated and i'll be crawling up under the truck sometime tomorrow to look around. thanks yall.

I can't help you with the location of the oil sender, but if it drops down when you stop or idle, it means your oil pressure has dropped, not that you need to add oil.

Add another quart of oil and see if it still does it. The oil could just be sloshing in the pan when you stop which causes the pressure to drop briefly. Get the switch and filter too and do an oil change at the same time.
