When I turn the key the dash lights up, fuel pump turns on, but when I turn it for ignition I get nothing. I can get it started by grounding the starter, alternator is charging. Any ideas?

You're going clear down to the starter? If so, what happens when you run a jumper wire from the positive post on the battery down to the small post with the slip on wire on the fender mounted solenoid?

It was the clutch switch, previous owner had clearly messed with it as it was duct taped together, would like to say I just replaced it, but all I really did was fix the jimmy job. Used a pin top to depress the spring then taped it back together, big problem is you can start it in gear without depressing the clutch. Has to be a cheap part and very easy to replace the right way, but i was just needing it to start so I could sell. I adivised the new owner...I am not a jerk haha
