Default Window Regulator ?s

Hello, I'm about to replace my window regulators on my 90 f150. So the old motors are out and long gone. So now I'm wondering when installing the new ones, should the window be all the way up or down? Or does it even matter? Also what grease would you guys recommend for the window tracks?

I don't think it matters where the window is. Silicone in the rubber tracks. White Lithium in the metal piece bolted to the bottom of the window.

Would not the window need to be taped up? How can you get the regulator in with the window down?

Lol that's a good point. Though I think it might still be possible through the speaker hole. I was told else where that the window should be half way up. Which made the most sense to me.

Well I'm not sure if it's supposed to be installed with the window half way up, but that's what I did. Seems to work fine.
