Weird electrical gremlins
94 f150 4.9 300 having some really weird electrical issues. Truck was parked since 2021 and recently when I trued to start it I found all kinds of electrical parts that had gone bad. No spark lead me to the pick up in the distributor. Replaced that and had spark and truck started up. Next day no spark again. Traced it back to the ICM. Replaced it and hit spark back but after warming up would stall and not start until cool.
traced that issue back to a burned up ECM. Replaced it and truck had no spark and wouldn’t start. Did some wire tracing and found that the spout was shouldering to ground and causing the spark to cut out. Unplug the spout and the truck runs. Idles a little high and but seems to run fine other then an occasional check engine light and codes that say spout circuit open and o2 sensor heating circuit fault. As soon as I plug in the spout it dies and has no spark. The pin on the ecu shows it’s grounded. I don’t think it supposed to be but this point I’m stabbing in the dark. All the chiltins manual tests come back good and don’t seem to have a break in the spout wires or in the foil shielding around it. Not sure where else to go from here. Any help or insight would be awesome. Thanks all.
