Default Upgrading to LED headlights

I bought a pair of Sylvania LED headlights that were supposedly a "plug and play" upgrade. Took the old bulb out and discovered that there is a collar in the bottom of the old one that does not let the new one fit in. Is there another brand that will just pop in? Or should I get out my dremel and go to work? Or do I have to replace the whole assembly? The glass "lens" has oxidized - that needs to be replaced. I have heard people say that the wax sold to clear them up does not last very long.

Also you mention glass lens which makes me think projector. You have projector lights? It may be an H7 bulb in there with a cable harness for the 9007 wiring. Got some pics? Pics always help.

I had to cut a notch on the locking rings for mine to fit.
