Switching relay with dome lights and switch problem

Hi, I've wired up a relay that takes power from the dome light to switch it as well as a rocker switch I installed.

Here is the schematic I drew up:

Of course, the issue I'm having is that when I use the rocker switch ("CabSW") to flip the relay my dome and cargo lights turn on because I have the "CargoLights" lead connected to the positive switched wire in the dome light assembly. How can I fix this so that only my relay turns on and not the other lights? I'm assuming I may be able to just put a diode on the one wire, would that work? Thanks!

Hi & Welcome!

Yessir - you nailed it - a diode to block the backfeeding will do the trick.

Good luck

It's going to turn the dome light on, that's how you have it wired.
