strange fuel issue. efi 302
Probably beating a dead horse here somebody probably knows where to find the answer to my problem.
So I fired the truck up yesterday (85 with a 302 efi) moved it. Shut it off. Went start. Fuel pump won't prime.
Here's what I've tested.
Bench tested pump. It works.
Replaced relay. I have power on 2 wires key on. It clicks when keying on then I can hear it click off like normal.
No power to pump. I'm at a loss here. Any help?

Also just to be safe I swapped in my spare fuel pump...nothing.
I'm super confused since the relay is clicking, new relay is clicking. Either the relay isn't getting main power or I have a bad wire from the relay down to the pump. There isn't a magical fusible link somewhere is there?

after testing everything multiple times, someone on another forum turned me on to the inertia switch. It wasn't tripped so I dismissed it, but after banging my head against a wall for a few hours I finally decided to test it. Unplugged it and jumped the wires and fuel pump primed. Hopefully this can help someone down the road.

Where is the inertia switch? I have an 88' with a 302 efi and it starts and runs fine. After the truck gets good and warm it shuts off with me going down the road. I wonder if I need to change that switch out.

My inertia switch was above the passengers left foot. But some are above the drivers feet or under passenger side kick panel. I doubt that's your problem though.
Check fuel pressure when warm. Might have a faulty pump or regulator.
