The stock stereo in my 1989 f150 xlt lariat won’t work. The display is lighting up, but it won’t show anything and there is no sound coming from the speakers.
Just trying to figure out how to repair it without buying a new one.

repairing without schematics, spare parts and a decent set of equipment is nigh impossible.

You can check the basics, like fuses, wiring still good and visual - look for a replacement on one of the large auction sites.
