Rig Job Will Not Start
Good morning, I am new to this site, but I couldn't find my answer when I searched, so I thought I would try posting.
I have a 95 F150 XL with 5.0L 2wd Automatic.
The previous owner had done a rig job on the ignition. There was a battery drain somewhere, so he added a toggle switch to the Red with Blue stripe cable. The truck started up just fine, but he never fixed the drain.
I was trying to fix the drain, and I ran into a problem. I determined the key turns the plastic shaft that engages the ignition into its different settings. Off ACC Run Start. Well the plastic shaft is not working, so the truck was always in the Run Mode hence the battery drain.
I tried starting it a few times just by pushing on the lever of the ignition switch, and it worked just fine (without a key in the ignition). Plus I could manually put the switch in off, and fix the battery drain. However, after starting the truck about 12 times, it will not start. It cranks, but does not start. Any suggestion?
