Default 1990 F150 trailer brakes

Google doesn't seem to understand "1990" when I try to search so I'll ask here. I have looked here also but couldn't find anything. I recently bought a trailer that's pretty heavy on its own. It has two axles both with brakes. I'm going to be rewiring the trailer also but I've done that before. I need to know how to wire a trailer brake controller into my truck, from what I can tell the 92 and up trucks have a straight plug in where as my 90 does not. If anyone has any experience with this or knows something I could reference I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you asking how to wire a brake controller? It is easy. Only 4 wires.....A hot to the battery, a ground, a wire to the cold side of your brake light switch, and the wire running to the back of your truck. You will have to put on a 7 pin socket in the back if you don't have one.

Thanks, I'll be getting a 7 pin in the morning and looking at controllers.

I'll try that also if I run into a problem. Thanks.

How did you end up wiring the brake controller? I just found the brake controller plug on my truck today and saw your thread.

I haven't put one in yet. I will be soon but that'll be after I'm finished with the rear axle.
