Default Noise on AM Channel

1992 F150
My F150 has the exterior antenna
My AM channels on the radio has a lot of noise, whining, etc.
I am using resistor plugs.

Is there any type of solution, by either changing the antenna or something that can be added to eliminate that noise?

I think there is a capacitor that hooks onto the ignition coil. You might want to check that out.

Is it an aftermarket stereo? Someone may have the power wires running along with the antenna cable that could cause noise getting higher pitched with higher rpms

88xlt has the answer for you. There is a round silver thing right at the coil wiring plug. It's sole purpose is to stop your radio from doing that.
