Default Megasquirt with E40D

I have 95 f150 with the 300 i6 with MAF. I want to do a turbo build on it and through my research I’ve found that I would need a Megasquirt tuner that would be complicated. I’m pretty confident I’d be able to do it with patience. However, the truck has an E40D. Would I be able to use the stock EEC-IV to control the transmission or would I have to bite the bullet and buy a transmission controller?

A stock ECU running a trans with a modified engine probably won't work too well, and hold you back performance wise. You'll probably want to get a standalone transmission controller, or swap to a trans that isn't electronically controlled.

Another option would be something like a twEECer, which lets you tune the stock ECU. That way you can keep the engine and transmission controllers as one unit.

How would a MicroSquirt match up with the Megasquirt? I’ve read a lot of things about it being able to act as a controller for the E40D I just can’t figure out how I would get a harness for it to hook up to the trans or even how to get it paired with the Megasquirt. Any ideas?

I’m doing some more research (obsessing a little lol) and I can’t find anything saying the Tweecer won’t be able to tune everything to the extent needed with a turbo build.
