Default Longer it runs the worse it runs

92 XLT150 with a 5.0. Just like the title says. Runs great and always starts but the longer I drive it the worse it runs. It's like cylinders just drop out. Good plugs, fresh wires and coil. Torn between the PIP and the ICM (remote on fender). Also a question about the ICM. All I can find for remote mounted ICM's is the black one. Mine is gray. I know they are (supposed to be) different. Is there a gray remote mounted available or should I get a gray distributor mounted one?

There should be a gray remote mounted available. From what a very knowledgeable guy said elsewhere on the internet, 1994 and newer Ford trucks take the black module. Your 1992 should have a gray module.

It was also stated many of the parts manuals are wrong, including some of Fords.

Just an FYI, Rockauto only lists a Delphi fender mounted gray module for a 93. Ordered it and a motorcraft PIP both for less than 80 bucks. Will update when I get them. Going to try 1 at a time also just so I know which is bad. In my research on here I have seen it recommended that you replace both at the same time.

Poor ole blue has 250 k on her. Motor and trans have been "updated" but all the electronics are still original. I can't seem to let her go. Got an 03 supercrew this year to replace her but I just can't get rid of her lol. Had this truck longer than any vehicle I've ever had.......

Have you considered the possibility of a plugged catalytic converter? Just a thought.

I was going to suggest the 02 sensor. Have you tried pulling the codes yet ?
