Where do all send your ECM out to be tested and rebuilt?

The ECM's are very reliable. About the only thing that goes bad are the few electrolytic capacitors inside. Since I have been repairing electronics and soldering for over 35 years , I fix my own and anyone with reasonable soldering skills can do it themselves.

You got any way to test them raski?
My first one, a 83 T bird Turbo Coup, one injector driver failed
That was years ago (around 88) and I just got another processor from Ford, back when they were all remans and were 225 each
So, can you replace an injector driver on one of the old ones? that were bank 1 and bank 2?
How about the newer sequential ones that have 8 injector drivers?
I worry about the replacement caps in my current processor.
How long do you suppose those jippo replacement capacitors are gonna last?

I do not have a schematic or a method of testing. I can change any known failed component. Without a schematic (roadmap) it's just guessing.Like I said, they are extremely reliable except for those caps which fail due to age. Capacitors have always been the weak link in anything electronic. If the replacement caps atleast met the specs of the old ones, they will last a long time. Myself, I always go up some with the voltage rating of the replacements while maintaining the same physical size.. The OEM's are rated for 6.3 and 16 volts. I go with 35 volt replacements and a 105 degreee(c) temperature rating for added durability.. Capacity values stay the same as originals..

Has anyone ever purchased one, or sent it out to be tested and repaired?
