Default Battery gauge fell apart

Hello. First time poster.
I have an '89 F150. Got out in the truck day before yesterday, and the battery gauge had kind of popped out on the dashboard. See the pictures. Truck's running in these pix. My only question, until it warms up, is this safe to drive around like this? I'm just wondering if some part of this gauge could go to ground. I'm a driveway mechanic, unless we get a real good warming spell, I won't fix it until spring. Thanks.

Looks like the needle just detached from the gauge itself. Look at the flat part of the gauge, it is pointing to more or less where it should. I'd drive it until you have a chance to fix it. The needle isn't going anywhere, and if it did, it would only drop to the bottom of the cluster.
