Autozone is terrible, only go there for "consumables" like cleaners, oil, etc. O'reilly and Napa for parts, if I don't have the time to order Motorcraft parts online.
Didn't need to re-use shaft when I did my distributor, but I guess I could have if I wasn't able to exchange the new wrong-sized one.
Don't ask anyone at autozone for ****. I'm sure there are exceptions to that, but your truck isn't worth the risk.

1995 302 lurching and dies then re-fires on its own. Distributor replacement. The local shop quoted me a price of $1150 to fix my electrical problem. So I figure I'll buy a new distributor, ignition coil, plugs and wires, and do it myself. Is there any other parts I should replace? Can a unhandy guy, me, do this work? I would prefer to put in oem parts but can't find Motorcraft distributors anywhere online. Are high end parts (MSD) worth it or necessary? Some of you bought distributors at Oreillys or Autozone, what brands were they?
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

Pull the codes and measure fuel pressure first.

Shop pulled a memory code 211 profile ignition pick up. I bought this truck a year ago to putter around in. It has 198,000 miles on it so I thought I'd replace everything ignition wise. It all looks original to me.
It has no problem sucking down gas. lol I'll look into the fuel pressure.
By the way, other than mine being a 1995 model, our trucks are identical down to the color.
Thanks.
