Ford bronco electrical issues
Hi, I just bought a 1983 ford bronco that hasn't run in some time. I got the truck to fire up for a few seconds at a time when I went to look at it, but since I've gotten it home I have yet to get it run. I have replaced the ignition switch and checked the fuses but I only get power to the starter (occasionally) and the headlights. I've looked over many wiring diagrams and tried to follow the wiring the best I can but have had no luck. Any feedback and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
Just a side note, the previous owner bypassed the ignition switch (i.e. turn the key for power to engine and acc, then hit a switch to fire the starter) because the slide from the tumbler to the switch was sticky. I hooked up the factory wiring again and got ride of the starter switch they wired up. Not sure if this helps at all.

Thanks sorry for not replying. Have had to chance to work on the thing between work and adopting an 8 week old pup. I'll take a look when I get a chance and post my results on here.

The truck would fire every time I had the fasten seat belt sign up on the dash but would sputter out due to no fuel. Now after replacing the ignition switch and fixing the previous owners shotty ignition bypass I have no lights on the dash when the key is in the RUN position.

Have you checked the ele plug that goes to your ingnition switch sometimes those wires
Back out of that plug. And also check the ground wires under the dash!
