I replaced the front gas tank about a year and a half ago so the nuts shouldn't be too hard to take off. My big problem is that the front tank is about 3/4 full. Do you have any siphoning tips because my lungs can't take gasoline fumes anymore

I had a similar problem, I had to bench press my tank with it completely full back up there while I had some one bolt it back up (jerk took forever) if I did it over again id figure out a way to use a jack to hold it and raise it for you

When I dropped my tanks I used a cheapo bulb siphon from auto zone.
It takes a little while to get it drained out.
Then I loosend the tank straps.I then used ratchet straps around the front and rear of the tank to help me lower it.

If your truck is like my 89 you have a pump in each tank and a helper pump on the frame.
Most of the time if 1 tank stops working it is the pump in that tank.

Buddhaboy, you probably have already figured that it was the fuel pump that was your problem and replaced it by now. I had the same problem with the rear tank, replaced the pump and no more problem, as you said you could hear the pump run, so could I but just because you hear it run doesn't mean that it has sufficient pressure, and mine didn't, so good luck.
