88 302 will not start unless turn signal is on
my 88 f150 xlt 302 efi. won’t start unless turn signal is on. It won’t stay running long. Whenever the turn signal flashes my gas gauge bounces all over. Tried disconnecting multi switch but still don’t start so I’m kinda lost. I’ll replace engine grounds today(hopefully helps). ANY IDEAS

Here’s a little more info. Last month I replaced starter,coil,distributor and battery for a different no start issue. It was driving fine till yesterday it died while driving and started right back up and drove for a cpl blocks and died then started and drove a cpl more blocks then died and won’t restart. If turn signal is on it starts but runs terrible and the gauges are pegged to the right until signal flashes then they bounce. Won’t start at all without turn signal. If it is running and I turn off signal it dies.

How long has it exhibited this symptom/condition? What do the battery terminals look like? Why exactly did you replace each part? With what (brand, PN, source)? Did each replacement pass the same test the original part failed?

You could reduce it to:
88 xlt lariat 2wd 5.0l
Replaced coil, distributor, battery, and starter june 15 (2018?) Ran great until July 15.
Then add all the OTHER details described in that caption.

It seems to be connected to all external lights. Brakes,hazard,turn,headlights. It’ll run with hazards on(very dim and gas gauge pegged full) until you press the brake or turn on any other exterior light.
