Default 1995 gas gauge ?

Hello. I have a 1995 F150 xl 4x4 short wheel base with single gas tank. When i fill tank to full my gauge stops at 3/4 mark, as I use gas it drops normal. I can fill it back up and it stops at 3/4. I put new tank and new sending unit in and it does same thing. I pulled the cluster out and there is no anti slosh circuit board. Any one have any idea?

Do you have the original sender? Connect it to the wiring under the bed, and cycle the arm through its range of motion while checking the needle's movement. If the needle moves to FULL, then the float arm probably needs to be bent so the float pushes it all the way up. If the needle still doesn't move all the way, pull the cluster out & check the position of the gauge face - they're know to separate, slide down, and jam the needles. Click these & read the captions:

Ok, i took the new sending unit out and pluged harness back and grounded it. I moved the float to full and my gauge went to full , moved it back down and gauge went to empty. Im stumped. Should i bend float rod?

I checked part number on sending unit and it was correct ..after dropping tank 4 times. The last drop became I forgot the vent line. I don't know why but after adjusting the float rod it is perfect, I tried it empty and full and shows on the gauge perfect. Just don't understand why, but it worked.
