The passenger seat on my 91 xlt lariat will not stay in upright position. It seems as though the gear ( I will call it ) mechanism in the seat back adjuster is not locking. I can operate the adjuster to let seat go forward, but there is nothing to keep it from falling all the way back.

These are th bucket type seats. Would anyone know if the adjusters of of other model year seats would be the same? Maybe I could find a decent one still at a salvage. I can find it through ford parts.com however I would prefer not to spend almost $300.

Just did. Apparently the part I found on ford is just a showing. Obsolete.

Shall I say I got blessed! I actually found the good working adjuster at the salvage. I had to buy the whole seat. Cost me $75. Better than the alternative of having a swat that won't stay up.
