Default Headlight warning chime driving me crazy.....

1993 f150 302 5.0 e40d

Hey guys. I have a real annoying problem. When I turn the lights on, the chime won't stop. It is pretty annoying and louder than you think. Any idea as to what is causing this?

Yeah there is an warning buzzer module, where the door, lights, seatbelt and key wires go to. Does the interior light stay on? If so you may have a bad door switch. If not there may be a bad wire on the light switch, cause 2 switches have to be on in order for the buzzer/chime to go off. Could be the module itself too.

Dome light only works when I manually put it on by turning the light switch all the way left. If I can't fix this is there a way to disable all these chimes? What is the module is it the little white thing under steering?

I can't remember for sure, but I think the module is behind the ash tray area, almost above it. I have never disabled it before. But yeah I'm thinking bad door switch too if you have to turn the lights on manually.

No solenoid, just two pin switches.

On my old Jetta it was a matter of pulling a relay from the fuse panel.
I was going to suggest that and then smash with a BFH.

Glad you got it solved.
