No, you need dye, trust me dude, I completely remodeled the interior of a 75 corvette and sprayed multiple hard plastic trim pieces with this interior dye stuff, its just like spray paint it penetrates the pores of the material including plastic. I've used this stuff on a corvette and I used it to paint the entire dash of my 1991 f150 which is a really hard plastic and it has held up wonderfully. The name is misleading but this is EXACTLY what you need.

on my corvette I sprayed all the roof panels, the dash, the console, the seat belt trim pieces, the rear window trim, and the steering wheel.
In my truck I sprayed the dash, the door panels, the Roof trim, the window trim and every other plastic piece I could find.
Wipe the pieces down with Acetone, Let it dry then spray with interior dye.
