Default Center seatbelt electrical help

I went to replace the center seatbelt (EDIT, it may be the driver buckle) on my 88 F150 and there is an electrical wire that runs up and into the latch. The new belt, from Seatbelts plus, doesn't have that. Im sure others have been down this road, any suggestions.

Oh, and the holes in the mounting plates of the new belts are only 1/2 in and too small for the factory bolt which is either 5/8 or 3/4...i haven't measured yet. Ill likely have to send them back anyway. But still would like to know about the wiring.

Thanks,

Chip

Yes, you should send it back.

What exactly is wrong with the original belt? Click this, read the caption, & the NEXT several:

The wiring is just for the warning buzzer/chime. If it's not plugged in (or deleted), there will be no audible warning to buckle up - that's all.

Thanks Steve.
The catch spring is weak and wont hold the end tab reliably. Ill look into the audible warning and thanks for the links.
Any recommendations on a supplier for new belts that has the correct hole size in the fitting?

There are none. Fixing the original is cheap & easy. Read those captions.

Junkyard, of course.

If you want specific suggestions, you need to put your truck's details into your signature so we know what you're talking about.
