Buying Seat For Father's Truck
My father has been driving a 1992 Ford F-150 since he bought it new. It currently has 293,000 miles, and is far from retirement. However, 20 years of work has done its damage. Cosmetically, the truck has seen much better days. I'm hoping to pick up some essential replacements before Christmas. I'm in a bit over my head, though, and could use any guidance you guys can offer.
Some guy is parting out an automatic 1988 F-250. Would that bench seat fit in the 1992 manual F-150? What years had seats that were interchangeable?
What's a good place to pick up spare parts without breaking the bank? I've been checking craigslist, but that's been pretty unfruitful so far.

Bench seats should be interchangeable from 1980-1996. You could put bucket seats in even. If you have any doubt it it will fit just get the brackets from the new one. The cabs are identical from 80-96. And if you need new parts LMC truck HAS everything. Sometimes they are on the pricey end. Though I would highly recommend getting on their website and ordering a free catalog. It'll give you some food for thought and it's actually rather informative. Good bathroom reading material. But as far as cheap parts, your local scrapyards are gonna be your best bet, like it or not.

I buy allot of parts from a scrap yard when i take a load in. Most of the small interior parts are real cheap. As long as it isn't heavy you make the an offer on it and they say yes. This is the cheapest place to buy parts I have found, since they buy it to scrap not sell parts.
