I just picked up a used 50/50 bench seat to replace an aging one in my '94. Both latches to unlock the seat back are broken. Drivers side seat back won't unlatch to fold open and passenger side seat back won't latch to secure seat back from moving. Can anyone guide me to instructions to repair the mechanism that allows the seats to latch/unlatch?

Ford seat mechanisms are generally not serviceable, and replacements are not available. Post pics of exactly what's broken, and where.

Here's a picture of the seat mechanism that was broken on both sides of the 50/50 seat I acquired at a salvage yard.




I went back there yesterday and walked the Ford section looking for split seats whose mechanism's still worked. I found three (now I have a spare). I installed them yesterday; today I'll put the foam and seat covers back on, steam clean the covers and let them dry. Tomorrow, remove the current bench seat, clean beneath and behind, and install the replacement unit.
