currently i am still using the old style seat belts. However i am on the hunt for a set of new style belts to swap in place. Also, i would have used the belts from the truck that i got the seats out of, but one was cut out already.

the old style of belt and the new style do not work together. both are very different from each other.

could you change to the new buckles onto the old straps so you don't have to redo the while seatbelt system?

not as a permanent solution, the buckle off of the new seats is fixed to the seat itself. the old bench buckle is on a 12" long strap; attached to the floor, and can be moved around.

currently mine still has the old style buckles AND the new style female end sill attached to the seat.

it messes with my friends when they get in and see two different seat belt receivers...

That's great work, seats look good !
Just for anybody who doesn't have a welder, this is a picture of the bracket Ford used to mount buckets in an OBS truck. It's upside down in the picture. It bolts to the floor where the bench would bolt and the bucket seat tracks attach to it. If you can find one of these (rare) it simplifies things a lot. They are specific though to regular cab or extended cab (floors are different).

How is the leg room after the swap? I figure you would lose some as the of those seats are pretty thick. I'm 6'3 so losing the leg room isn't an option.

leg room was sacrificed a bit. I am 6' and it is right at the edge of my comfort zone with leg room. it would be much better if i was able to scoot the seats back more, but because the back height is about 4 inches taller than the old bench seat. but if you have an extended cab this would be no problem.
