Default 1978 Radio Options

I just purchased a 78 Lariat and it has an aftermarket stereo. I would like an original radio but I can't find out if there were any options for radios then. Was there an 8-track option? Just AM/FM?

thanks

If there was a 8track option it was a two piece affair. 8track will not fit the dash opening. Aftermarket was put put in because it is more than likely a far better product. Factory radios of the period were junk. Am/fm cassette was an option. There are high quality aftermarket that are the two pole cassette style, may try Crutchfield? In all honesty, the only reason to put factory in that truck would be for Pebble Beach

I'd look at one of the companies that makes retro style after market radios. You'll ha ve a lot more features and still look stock. I think an AM only radio may have been standard in 78. I can't remember for sure.
