That empty connector is for cab clearance lights (if factory equipped)

So I am revisiting this topic because I have found a parts car in a local yard that not only has power mirrors and the switch but also has a 9.5/10 maroon dash that I am going to grab because why the hell not. Mine has a crack in it anyways hehe.

So the question is, can I rob a wiring harness from a donor 96 F250 with power mirrors/locks and have it plug/play into my 94 F150 with power locks. They have the exact same door panels. Will I have to do any actual cutting/splicing? And is there any issues with ODB1/ODB2 compatibility with the new wiring/dash?

The power mirror part of the harness is a separate set of wires which you can strip out of the 96 harness, which you can then just tape on to your existing harness.
You will then have plugs for your mirrors.
I have done this.
You will have to supply power and ground to the circuit. 5 to 10 amp in line fuse.

Pull the 96 harness and take it home and take it apart. You have to remove the dash in the donor truck to get the harness out. It's a separate harness strung below the windshield. You can sneak the mirror harness (after you tape it back up) through your dash without pulling your dash.

Thank's Chris - I'm actually pulling the dash from the donor because it is in mint condition and I will be replacing my dash with it - so that will make everything easier. Thanks for the quick response.

Well I should have jumped on when I saw it - went back to the yard today and the entire interior was stripped and both doors were gone.

On the bright side, they had moved the car next to a 90's explorer with maroon interior that had three pristine grab handles. So now I have my next mod/project.

In the never ending saga that is my search for power mirrors and the factory wiring harness that I need to run them, I have finally bit the bullet and purchased a factory dash and doors wiring harness from a 94-95 F150 with power mirrors, locks, doors - and here's the reason I paid $300 on ebay for it - factory keyless entry!!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/172569565707...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So now that I really do have to pull the dash, the door panels, and all of the wiring - I'm re-considering dynamatting the entire truck. It seems almost silly to have it that far apart and not do it - like changing your timing cover gasket and not changing your timing chain. Anyways, I'll add pics when the project gets underway. Gonna need a couple of sunny days in a row, so at this rate it might be July.

Hold the phone ! Did you pay for that yet ? Can you hold it up ?

My concern is that they advertised it as for 92 to 96 and that's not possible. Dash wiring is a little more year sensitive, especially airbag/non-airbag wiring. I don't see a blue airbag module in there.

You can claim it's incorrect advertising because it is. That dash harness could not possibly cover the years specified.

If you're hooked though all is not lost. I can give you some direction on powering up the door harness and you may have to leave the dash harness on a shelf. You won't get the factory keyless entry but you can wire in an aftermarket one.

Its 94-95 specific - I specifically asked if it would work for my 94 with airbag and he said yes, so if it doesn't, I am covered. It came out of a 95 F150, and he said he has done the conversion on 6 trucks, so I am hopeful.

Thanks for your help Chris...I'll buzz you if I have any problems.

This will give you step by step instructions on where each dash bolt is hiding. It will seriously help you take out the dash. Make a YouTube video of your dash removal. There is no such video on a OBS aero nose F-150 dash removal on YouTube.
