Default Upgrading to power mirrors

I have a '94 XLT - power windows and locks, but manual mirrors. I'd like to upgrade and have found a local donor truck that should have everything for it. Mirrors and the door switch are the obvious needs - will I need to grab any wiring or should mine be pre-wired for it? Seems to be mixed results reading up on this topic. I don't mind pulling the panel to find out just need to know what to look for.

In case anyone looks back on this - no the doors were not pre-wired for power mirrors, which turns this into a less important back-burner project for now.

Just finished doing that for a buddy's F350 4x4. Same thing as yours, windows and locks, no mirrors.
Had to rob the mirror harness out of another wiring harness. After you feed it through, you just need power and ground.
But yes it would be a pain to do for you - his cab is off and stripped out for a complete restoration. A little easier to get at the wiring that way.

So just out of curiosity, what is this empty connector behind my passenger side kick panel? It looks very similar to the seatbelt light connector.

Don't know that one offhand. Right power mirror would be 3 wires - purple, dark green and yellow.

I've wanted to do this on my 1995 F-150, and so far I've got the Wiring Harness-the Power Mirrors- Switch & Bezel. So all I'd need to do now is wire them up, but since I'm not to keen on wiring I haven't started it. So I'm not sure when I'll get it done.
But I was wondering if I could just take the power Mirror part out of the donor harness, and just use that part of it instead of replacing my whole harness with the donor one. That seems like it would work, but again I know very little about wiring..

Yes, I just did that for a 96 350. You will need power and ground.
Ground can be tapped into near the driver's side switch (you'll see when you take apart the donor harness).
I believe the power should be green (with a stripe ?), you will need to extend that and hook into power from the fusebox - with an in line fuse, probably shouldn't be more than 10 amp max., if that high.
Do not take power from the power window power wire - that's on a 20 or 25 amp.

Since I'm not going to remove the dash to run the Wire, I figure I'll just run it over to the Passenger side under the Dash. I just looked at my donor harness, and I see the Power Mirror parts of it so like we talked about I'll just remove that part of the Harness. And when you wire it for power you said wire it to the fuse box, but where in the fuse box would I need to wire it? And I'd need to put in a in-line fuse also? And you said when I take the donor harness apart I'd see something about the ground, could you explain more about that? I know I'd just need to find a bolt or screw to get a good ground, but where did you ground it at? I know these are dumb questions to someone who knows about wiring, but I don't know a thing about wiring.

The grounds all connect to a bigger ground wire near the p/w switch. That will make more sense when you take apart the donor harness. Or just run a new ground all the way like I did.
For power, you'll just have to tap in somewhere kind of like running power for a stereo or fog lights or such. Just make sure it has a low amp fuse because those are pretty small wires. The idea of a fuse is that if the unit in question starts pulling more power than the wire can handle (the wire will heat up and start the insulation on fire), the fuse will pop before any damage is done.

Man I appreciate you taking the time to help me out, I'm going to get a friend to help me out with this. But with what you've said it shouldn't be that bad of a job. Thanks again...
