Question Tail plastic replacement



The plastic reflective piece on my tailgate cracked. I want to replace it, but how do i do it, and how do i put another on?

I have the same problem. To do it right you will need to replace the entire silver/aluminum piece. Finding that piece is the problem, affording it may be the next problem.

I would get it from a junkyard. Do you know how to do it though

There are 8 screws that go through the tailgate into plastic brackets that hold the aluminum trim piece. If you get the trim piece at the JY, make sure you get the four brackets and that they are not broken!. You might try Craig's List too.

I changed out just the plastic reflector on mine, but you have to chisel it off from the trim piece since it's molded to it. I just used some contact type adhesive to glue a new one on and it's holding up well.

Oh cool. Thats how i thought it would work (the chisel part).
