Strait piping/ loud exhaust?!

headers and true dual exhaust is as loud as you'll get it without actually having no exhaust. i personally don't like straight pipe on non built motors. i think they usually just sound like gutless crap. if you do true dual though with nice mufflers, it will be loud when you get on it (and sound good) but relatively quite at idle and lower RPM.

Straight pipes mean just that, pipes straight through with no restrictions. Having a glasspack doesn't count as straight pipes.
But yes, cutting off your cats and replacing your mufflers with glasspacks will do the trick you want. Run 2 inch piping from front to back, glasspacks and no cats and it'll be one of the loudest trucks around.

Stand in front of the mirror and repeat " Sorry officer , I have to get that fixed , but with work and the baby and everything I just haven't had time, and I really can't afford a ticket."
Make it believable , you might need it.

Or the old "I just bought the truck the other day and the mufflers I ordered are on the way". Or the "this city doesn't have a noise bylaw before 11pm", that's my favorite. I can really see the helplessness in the cops eyes mixed with a bit of anger when I remind him/her of that.

I have a 95 with a 302 and i used to have a flow master on it when i bought but it wasn't loud enough so i took everything off right up to the cats left both on and it was pretty loud and kinda just had a deep rumble to it that sounded real good from outside the truck and inside the only bad thing was when you would rev it up in neutral it would pop a little bit

Cats make a huge difference in loudness of sound. Huge. If they accidentally fall off of your truck, go true dual all the way back with your choice of mufflers. If you want a deeper tone go with bigger diameter pipes. More cackle, smaller diameter.

I have an inline 6 and I removed the factory cat, muffler, and piping. I now have 2.5" Y pipe to a short glasspack to 2.5" pipe that turns out infront of my rear tire.
It is quiet at idle and a nice decent law abiding sound just off idle or running around town. However it louder that crap if you put your foot off in it.
