I don't understand why people ruin perfectly good factory paintjobs for flat black. I also don't understand why people ruin good factory paintjobs because they want to paint their own stuff. Unless you're a body man with your own body shop, let the pros do it. 98% of what's done in garages never looks half as good as a good factory paintjob. From what I seen, your truck looks good. Why look "scary" when it can just look "good"? I have a good buddy who ruined the look of his 96 by painting it flat black, it used to be silver and white and pretty sharp looking but instead of doing $500 of body work and keeping the same color he painted it in his shed and it looks like crap.
Flat black has to be done right or it will look bad. All your body work has to be done right underneath, you have to have a good coat of primer and you have to really knwo what your doing or it will look patchy and show a lot of little bumps. A wrap is a good option if you don't mind spending the money, it will be perfect looking and if you don't like it you can always take it off down the road anyways. Not sure on cost though.

Do what you like! It is YOUR truck. I'm considering painting my '89 satin black because I hate the Afrika Corp desert tan factory color. It is a perfectly fine paint job, especially for an '89 but I hate the color. If I make the change, I'll have a pro do it because I know my limits! Plus I have about 30 snaps on the sides of the bed that have to come off from an old tonneau cover. Thanks for posting all the pix, y'all have some nice rides!
