Default need tire advice for my 94 f150 4x4

I am new to truck ownership. I am entering my first winter with my 94 f150 4x4. Does anyone have any tire recommendations? I want to be able to drive in the snow and do some off roading. I have stock wheels and no lift. What's the biggest tire I can put on? I was looking at the Mastercraft Courser AXT 235/75R15 -- any advice? Are there better tires out there?

Go buy some full blown snow tires if you want to enjoy driving it this winter. I know the Nordic's chew through snow really good.
235 is a little small for a 4x4 - 31/10.50 is a better choice - what most of them came with.

Your asking a prety broad question. There are a lot of tire brands and several that you would probably be happy with. You're kinda asking an opinion question, and everyone has their favorites, which may or may not be what's best for you. I'd suggest doing some reading about the differences between all season tires, AT tires and snow tires. They all have their pros and cons.

How much you plan to drive your truck and what your budget is may be more important than what the best tires are. Its hard to give recommedations without knowing more about your parameters, and will be hard for you to evaluate peoples recommendations without being more knowledgable about the choices.

As was previously said, it's a matter of opinion really. I would recommend at least a 31x10.5R15, you can probably go bigger with a 4x4, I wouldn't know mine is 4x2, but 31s look pretty natural under these trucks at stick or close to height. I work for Goodyear, so, no question about it, my opinion is skewed, but I run the goodyear Duratrac's on my truck, 31x10.5. They handle snow, gravel, dirt, and wet grass effortlessly, my truck is a 2wd so tires are really what make or break my winter driving. I've had no problems with them, 25k miles on them now. They have a 50k mileage warranty on them as well.

I've never run anything but Goodyear tires on my truck, so I can't speak for anything else. I've heard great things about Cooper and BFGs as well though. It's a matter of opinion when it boils down to it.

also keep in mind narrower tires will go much better in snow, while wider tires will handle/look better...the heavier the tires the worse the ride and the worse the gas mileage.
