Again those are very very cheap projectors, they don't even work properly they are only the high beam the low beam is still in a reflector housing. Personally I don't like wasting money on garbage.

Any modification of factory headlights is illegal.. Check Federal Motor Vehicle Code. That is fact. I've posted the code on here many times. Let me clarify a little. When Louisiana advertised passage of their HID law, my fiance' and I had a very heated discusiion about why as a cop, she won't write HID tickets. Louisiana law directly mirrored US Code of Federal Regulations for motor vehicle lighting equipment. It does not specify that HID's or any other bulb is illegal. It specifies that any performance modification of headlights is illegal. It goes further to explain requirements of the housings and output of light. Police typically won't write the tickets because the code is so detailed and long that it becomes vague. States are copying federal code so that they can write tickets and collect the fines and fees at the state level rather than charging the driver with a federal crime. They still can make a federal case out of it if they wish to do so. Depends on how the officer wants to deal with it. This vague wording results in more time in court and there for cops like my fiance' just don't want to write tickets that may not hold up or result in days of court for simple traffic offenses.

there is a way around that, SAE/DOT lights.
as long as the light has those markings it is legal. doesnt matter if it is headlights turn signals, brake lights, clearance lights.

i've been pulled over on my bike three times now for my rear turn signals.
they are 1/2" LED lens. they try to write me a ticket for custom lights on the bike, then I point out the lens and where it says DOT on it, once a light is DOT certified they cant do anything to you.
this is why it is hard to find full clear lights anymore, they have to have a colored reflector in them.

X2^ None of these eBay lights have DOT stamps. If they could get through customs, they would. One day, Hong Kong will figure it out like they do with motor cycle helmets. I ordered an ATV helmet off eBay for $20. Non-DOT in the add. Shipped Hong Kong Air Mail through a warehouse in L.A. and arrived at my front door with a DOT sticker on it. I did find an add on eBay right around the same time for a sheet of DOT motor cycle helmet stickers for $1. Lol
