I think you get some nice sanded lumber, cut to fit, nail/screw/bolt together, make it smooth, and paint white or laquer then install.

Spent the afternoon planing oak. Got some nice looking (to me) wormy oak boards. Not as wormy as I'd like, but better'n no wormholes at all.
Now to edge em and sand em.

I will begin posting pics when I get to the final finishing stage and further.
Figure, being a truck site and not a wood shop hangout...
I will get instructive as it gets more "truck"y.
Just 12 passes through a planer so far.
Hope that didn't come off snarky.

I can understand that. I think progress pics would be cool to see though. It may not be a "wood shop hangout" but its always neat to see a project come together. Maybe a shot of the wood once you get it planed the way you want it? A pic of what you're starting with would be cool too. Hope i don't sound too demanding! Lol

The blue wood I like... but I saw an OLD one with body colored wider steel strips. Not the thin stainless/chrome ones. I'm leaning that way.
