Building my 1990 f150
Hey y’all! Got a 1990 f150 as a project truck that I’m rebuilding. I was just curious to know if 1992-1997 fenders will fit on my 1990 f150? If so, what would I need to change on the front end? Also, does anybody know where I can find aftermarket parts like grilles and headlights?

Yes, but the wiring is different, and '92-up wiring won't fit. The bumper is different, too, and it won't fit the frame horns. If you want a '92-96, buy one. '87-91 are the worst F-series, and they have the fewest replacement & aftermarket parts available. I don't even think you can buy headlights for that thing.

Headlights for the 8th gen pickups are not too hard to find. On rockauto the grille is only $20 and a headlight assembly is about $70. both of those can probably be found for even cheaper at a junkyard. Rock auto sells front fenders for those trucks at about $80 each. And I mean I honestly think the 87-91 pickups are pretty great. I have seen they the bodies on those trucks hold out against rust better than the generation of trucks before, and after.

No, I'd never have bought it. I'd get a '94-96.As I said: yes, they bolt on. But there's a LOT more to making them work as part of the truck than the simple physical attachment. Everything CAN BE FITTED, if you're willing to cut, weld, glue, hack, splice... But if you already knew how to do all that, you wouldn't have had to ask this question. So you'll either have a STEEP learning curve to get this done, or you'll end up with some really-ugly yard art, or you'll sell it now & buy the truck you want.
