Has anyone made their own backrack/headache rack? I will need one this coming summer but don't want to shell out the money to buy one that doesn't even fit perfectly. I also have a tonneau cover that I put on during the winter, so the rack would have to be removable. Anyway, if you have a backrack, please post it here to give me and others ideas! Thanks!

 

I made one in machine shop, used the same idea as the normal backrack and just tweaked the measurements until I thought it looked good

 

What did you make it out of? I like the louvered look that some have, but I need it to hook mowers onto. Do you happen to have any pictures of it?

 

I can't remember the exact size but square tubing with some flat bar. Guess my weldings better then I thought because I hooked a dirt bike to it when i went to the track and nothing broke.



It's nothing fancy but gets the job done and I got a good mark on it.
