Sorry. Last night after f**king with this damn thing, I was so tired and aggravated that I just wanted dinner and bed. LoL no I haven't looked at the TC. I got it out and just threw it in the shop.

Today, It's raining beyond rain. Tomorrow will be a better day to inspect the TC and try to see what you guys are talking about.

EDIT: I found a Chiltons guide and looked at transmission install. It states that the torque converter drain plug has to line up to it's corresponding hole in the flywheel. I hope it's obvious where it goes. I saw no drain plug but like I said, I'll be out there tomorrow.

Grrrrrrrrr RAWR!@#$

FINALLY got the damn tranny lined up and installed, spinning freely by hand.

Even though many of you have offered some excellent suggestions, in the end it was something totally stupid.

A buddy of mine came over to help me today and he noticed the pilot bearing was still installed in the crankshaft

A bearing puller, an air chisel, and 1 hour later.... pilot bearing removed, tranny lined up and slid right into place.

It did help that the drive shafts were removed. Both u-joints on the front drive shaft were toast, but that's an epic easy fix after this bull****.

I just don't understand how I could be stupid as to miss something small like that...

Clint, this thread is over five years old and is a different subject than what you are asking about.
You would have more success getting help by starting a new thread of your own.
