I drive about 90 miles a day to work and back, most of that is on the highway, and I'm getting between 18-19 mpg. When I do drive more in town, the mileage usually drops down to 17-18.

The 2.73 gears only where offered with the 5sp. If you had the 5sp I'd bet your mileage would increase by 1 to 2 mpg putting you close to the other member replying to the thread. From my understanding of gear ratios, below 3.55 are highway and above better for towing or in town which is why the 3.55 is the happy median. It is still the gear of choice for a majority of F150's but with higher power ratios 3.31 is very popular also.
