Unhappy Warn Hubs don't Click

I replaced my auto hubs with Warn standard manual locking hubs. (1995 f150). When I turn the hub dial to Free I hear and feel a "click" indicating that the hub is in the Free position. However, when I turn the hub dial to Locked I do not hear or feel a "click".
1) Is this normal? - can't tell if my hubs are locked.
2) If not, does anyone have any ideas on why the hubs do not "click" in the locked position?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Is the rule then: If they are "clicked" on free then they are unlocked. If they are at or near the Locked mark they are locked?

Turn it all the way to locked and move it forward a few feet I think and its actually locked. Put it in free and back up a few feet and its unlocked, that's what I've been told. Never had problems with mine.

Thanks. I was concerned about tearing something up.
