Ok your right my mistake on the 9"

From what I've seen is that the disk brake kit for the explorers fit on the 9"

I could be totally wrong, if so disregard the advice.

You want a dana 60 rear out of a 73-newer f series. The ones used in dodges and chevys are the same axle, but I'm not sure on the years on them. I'm not sure on where the VSS is on your 91, I think your lucky and it on the t case and not the axle. As for the front, I'm assuming you're 4wd? Then you want a dana 60 out of an 85-97 f350

Naw I'm 2wd sadly. I have an AOD tranny and yes the VSS is on the tranny.
That's why I was asking if I should get the front axle as well to go with the rear.

Well I actually meant swap the entire front end (axle) with the Dana 60's partner up front. And I may be wrong the VSS lol.

2wd i beam trucks all pretty much have the same front "axle" after a bit of research, you can take the beams and hubs from an f250 or 350 and get 8 lugs up front.

So basically (help me here I'm a bit slow when it comes to this ) you mean I can keep my original front end, but just swap out the axles from the F250/F350?

I think he's just talking about matching the front bolt pattern to the 1 ton rear...if you're putting a solid front axle in it's gonna take a little fabrication.

yes. this is what your front end looks like, the red parts are what you would be replacing.

How hard would those be to replace with the F250s/F350s? Or am I just better off going with a full SAS?
