Which Transmission Dipstick Tube To Use?
 

I have a '96 F150 XLT 5.8L. As I'm very lucky, the dipstick tube broke. I managed to get the old one out and I replaced it with this guy.
The new tube fits live a glove into the transmission, but the shape is totally different and it sits way down in the engine whereas the old one was accessible pretty much up top. The mounting bracket is also nowhere near where the old one would go. I'm pretty sure I have the E4OD since I have overdrive.
My question is - is there a different tube I need to be using or can I just use some metal straps to hold it in place and forget about it?:whistling2:
