Question ring and pinion change

I have a 1987 f150 with the stock 8.8 rear end with 3.08 gears and I'm wondering what would be best to change to for better performance (acceleration)... 3.73 or 4.10? I would like something that would make it faster off the line without robbing my fuel mileage. Its got the stock 3 speed c6 as well. Please help.

Even just 3.55s is a world of difference, a cheap trick we did back in the day was swap to shorter rear tires, going from 235/75s to 245/50s was like switching fom 3.08 gears, to 3.88s, also looks goofy as hell.
