Default No 4x4 in reverse, loud clunk from reverse to first

First post, but not new to the site been using it for awhile, great stuff. So a week ago i was pulling out my old escort zx2, my 4x4 made a loud clunk, from what seemed to be under my feet but hard to say, an from what it felt like, i lost my 4x4. Everything in tacked nothing snapped, tried 4x4 today an it worked fine, until i tried reverse. Doesnt work in reverse but works in forward gears after loud clunk/pop? WhAt In TArNatIoN

Are we supposed to guess what truck you're talking about? We need to know EVERYTHING about how it came from the factory, how it's built now, and the history between then & now:

Include the type of t-case & hub locks, and their maintenance histories:

Do you have a Haynes manual? Have you read it?
