Time to play... Name that engine part!!! ( APPLAUSE APPLAUSE )

After a rebuild of the engine. Truck came back with three unknown parts not pluged. Naturally check engine light is ON.

Can anyone help please help name these parts... they dont seem to plug into anywhere.

The weird broken tube that looks pinkish is a vacuum line for the smog system - it will run from either the TAD or TAB solenoid to a valve coming off of the head - there should be two different ones with different colors.

The electrical connectors look like the plugs that go to the TAD/TAB solenoids that control the valves, and they are vacuum controlled. On a V8 they are mounted on the same bracket as the ignition coil, not so sure about the 6. Kind of hard to tell from the pictures though, they could go somewhere else.

It looks like this would be a good time to familiarize yourself with the smog pump system, and then you can replace those crappy plastic vacuum lines with rubber or silicone.

Refer to the vacuum map on the VECI label above the brake booster to ID the vacuum line.

For electrical connectors, ID them by their wire colors. It may be necessary to peel back some of the factory wrapping to find the original unfaded colors.

A connector could appear burned if it rested against a hot part for a little while, or if it rubbed/vibrated against a cooler part for a LONG time. Not all EEC calibrations require the same sensors/actuators, so there are occasionally unused circuits/connectors; particularly in '94-95 when these trucks were transitioning to MAF OBD-II.
